Destinations

Ladies and Gentlemen, your budget will obviously determine the destination and length of your cruise. If you're budget is average, several hundred dollars per person, then there are some great cruises around on offer, certainly now in this economic climate.  If you are fortunate enough to live near a US coast, you can avoid flying to join the ship. You will normally have the best deals on offer, as most popular cruise companies will sail out of a large port near you every week or two,  in Florida, L.A., Texas for example. In this case, you can simply drive, park, cruise, eat, enjoy and when the cruise is done simply walk back to your car and away you go.

If you have several thousand dollars you want to spend on a cruise, and plenty of time on your hands, then I would  recommend making an entire voyage out of your trip. For example, one option might be, to join the ship in the middle of a world cruise. You fly out to an exotic destaination a few days before the ship arrives. Stay in a hotel, join the ship when it docks, spend 2 weeks or so on board, then debark at another destination, staying here a few days and flying home. A great way to explore the world. The options are endless.

Caribbean Fun.

Whether its to relax on an isolated beach? (examples), to swim with the wildlife? (another option), explore mother nature? (good fun), or simply relax and enjoy the local cultures and there customs? (could this be you?), the caribbean has something for all.

Most of the larger cruise liners sailing out of the states make the caribbean islands a permanent itinerary destination all year round. The islands are close to there main home ports mainly east coast USA -Miami, Forte Lauderdale, Jacksonville. The port facilities in the carribean are usually fairly modern, if not brand new, making life easier for the guests to dissembark fairly quickly.Pics below are typical of what you will find when you wake up in the morning in the carribean. Make sure you get dressed before wondering around your cabin!!!

The islands port facilities have grown in general over the last 10 years, so you should be able to expect quite alot of shopping right in the port´s terminal itself. Though if you are like me and wanna get away from the crowds, ask a taxi driver to take you to a beach like the one below.

I have been to most of the caribbean and , yes, ALL of the islands you will find great beaches and some sort of shopping, though out of all of them, I can highly recommend the island of Cozumel. There is something for everyone here. (my favourite island). Duty free shopping, empty beaches, great food, wildlife, great atmosphere in general and most of all great memories. Its a reasonably priced island which accepts US dollars. Great fun regardless of your age or physical ability.
